District Technical Service Manager manages an organization's technical customer support policies, objectives, and initiatives. Provides mentoring, leadership, and organization to managers and supervisors. Being a District Technical Service Manager oversees the creation and implementation of processes that maximize efficiency and meet or exceed service quality and customer satisfaction goals. Monitors and measures service metrics and volume to develop standards, improvements, or changes to workflows and resource allocation. Additionally, District Technical Service Manager makes recommendations for changes to products or services based on customer feedback and requests. Engages in resource planning and decision-making. Coordinates across functions to support future products and releases. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director or top management. The District Technical Service Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a District Technical Service Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Reports to: Director of Operations

    Summary:
    The Fastener - Technical Services Manager’s role is to support the organization’s fastener procurement and distribution activities, including but not limited to fastener drawing interpretation, providing direction in proper inspection processes, obtaining, and communicating fastener standards and specifications, providing guidance to management, peers, suppliers and customers on fastener specifications and performance, and being a proactive proponent of the ISO 9001 quality management system.

    Responsibilities:

    • Interpretation of and communicating fastener design specifications and functional requirements.
    • Maintains current knowledge and is conversant with various fastener standards (ASTM, SAE, ISO, DIN, Mil-Spec, etc)
    • Reviews customer designs and company drawings as needed.
    • Enhances receiving inspection functions.
    • Participates in resolving quality issues with customers and vendors/suppliers.
    • Negotiates deviations and/or concessions for products from customers when feasible.
    • Participates in advanced product quality planning activities when needed, such as with new suppliers and/or new parts.
    • Maintains strong knowledge of fastener measuring and test equipment and methods.
    • Participates and/or leads problem solving involving customer complaints regarding product quality.
    • Assists identifying opportunities for process improvements, able to prepare corrective action reports.
    • Knowledge of fastener manufacturing processes. (Cold, heading, turning, stamping, plating, etc)
    • Assists with sourcing and supplier development as required.
    • Knowledgeable of and is conversant with customer specific requirements related to REACH, RoHS, SVHC, conflict minerals, etc.
    • Interfaces with customer and supplier engineering and quality staff as required.
    • Able to travel to customers and suppliers as needed, including internationally.
    • Other activities as required.

    Requirements:

    • Demonstrated experience working effectively with suppliers and customers to resolve problems.
    • Strong knowledge of fastener manufacturing methods, including plating & finishing processes
    • Experience working in an ISO 9001 quality system environment.
    • Experience with root cause analysis and preparation of CARs (corrective action reports).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.

    Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or related discipline.
    • 5 years of experience in the commercial and Mil-spec fastener space.
    • Proven work experience in a similar role.
