  • SAFETY:

    • Follows company safety policies and procedures on the jobsite, promotes safe behavior with our customers.
    • Maintains a clean service truck, performs required inspections, and completes necessary paperwork.
    • Ensures equipment under repair is in a zero-energy state before servicing (Lock out Tag Out).
    • Handles chemicals in accordance with the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
    • Operates cranes within manufactures guidelines, understands the crane’s lifting capacity.
    • Uses correct tooling, performs tool inspections regularly, follows tool instructions and cleans as needed.
    • Performs Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) of location and equipment, looks to eliminate or reduce potential hazards.
    • Identifies potential safety concerns on all makes and types of equipment through walk around inspections and reports them to the supervisor and/or the customer.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Acts as mediator between the Service Department and Manufacturers concerning escalated technical problems Agri-Service is not readily able to solve.
    • Interacts with the Service Department, both verbally and in writing, to assist in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of products and attachments that present unusual and out of the ordinary machine system problems.
    • Gathers data and facts to effectively communicate information to Manufacturers using the Dealer Solutions Network.
    • Assists Manufactures to recognize product issues.
    • Assists in Warranty descriptions using technical verbiage to get maximum warranty claim coverage.
    • Takes repair findings and assists in the creation of technical documents, instructional briefs, and manuals.
    • Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain information on new products to better provide technical assistance.
    • Assists in technical training. Monitors, mentors, and teaches service personnel the Manufacturers technical processes.
    • Works effectively with other departments (Sales and Parts) to ensure the efficiency and professionalism of the Service department.
    • Maintains a service vehicle with appropriate tools.
    • Advocates and exemplifies safety and safe working habits. Promotes the Safety Culture of Agri-Service.
    • Works within and promotes company vision, mission, and values.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge of Large Ag and or Heavy equipment. (AGCO preferred)
    • Knowledge of service diagnostic tools and Manufacturer’s support centers processes. (Agco preferred)
    • Knowledge and use of Microsoft computer products or other comparable systems required.
    • Proven service skills over the phone and in person.
    • Must be able to travel and stay overnight as the occasions arise. Ability to prioritize workload.
    • Proven organizational skills.
    • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
    • Five years’ experience as agriculture/heavy equipment service technician with increasing levels of responsibility and knowledge with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly, thoroughly, and correctly required.
    • Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues as required.
    • Prior experience communicating, verbally and in writing, technical issues and resolutions required.
    • Competent in using computer and programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
    • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).

    PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

    • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
    • Ability to work extended hours with minimal notice.
    • Frequent walking, standing, driving, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, climbing, twisting, and leaning.
    • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies.
