    Job Summary

    Information Technology Services (ITS) at the MCCCD is looking to add an experienced, proactive Project Manager Senior to the Infrastructure and Customer Care team. The successful person will coordinate the planning and execution of complex IT and business-related projects across multiple business units and technical teams. The Project Manager Senior manages stakeholder priorities and coordinates resources to ensure requirements and project scope adherence, creates and maintains necessary project documentation, and uses a professional communication style to keep stakeholders informed of project progress.

    Essential Functions

    40% - Manages multiple complex IT and business projects; oversees and coordinates the planning and execution of projects by creating and maintaining appropriate documentation including project charters, schedules, work breakdown structures, risk/issue log, communication plan, change requests, lessons learned and other documents as needed; communicates project progress through electronic and in-person discussions; manages the portfolio of initiatives that span across business units or lines of business; prepares estimates and develops detailed project plans for all phases of the project or initiative including identifying resource and budgetary requirements and managing project scope

    30% - Manages and coordinates the planning and execution of projects by establishing project objectives, milestones, schedule and overall plan; plans and implements communication activities and timelines for assigned projects; provides technical assistance and resolves issues related to project tasks; works closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders to define project scope, strategy, budget, and outcomes; identifies critical resource expertise and targets appropriate internal and/or external sources to ensure optimal outcome(s); resolves vendor resource issues; provides big-picture assistance to the organization and management of all aspects of related projects to ensure alignment of the overall program with strategic business objectives

    20% - Facilitates project team meetings which includes scheduling, creating meeting agendas and notes, and ensures meetings run efficiently; uses judgment, tact, discretion, and initiative to bring resolution to roadblocks; understands when and the appropriate resource to escalate matters to; develops and executes a communication strategy for all different project stakeholders; reports on project status, progress, metrics, risks, test results, and deployment activities; provides feedback, advice, and encouragement to other project managers and project team members

    10% - Performs other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field with four (4) years of communication, networking infrastructure, and/or systems experience as a project manager.

    OR

    Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field with six (6) years of communication, networking infrastructure, and/or systems experience as a project manager.

    OR

    High School Diploma/GED with eight (8) years of communication, networking infrastructure, and/or systems experience as a project manager.

    Desired Qualifications

    A. Experience leading complex IT or Business projects; preferably using agile frameworks

    B. Possess related, current project management certification(s) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) such as the PMP/CAPM/PMI-SP or PMI-ACP or CSM

    C. Experience managing projects using management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, one-minute project plans, Open Project, or JIRA

    D. Experience with cloud and on-prem infrastructure architecture
