Distribution Manager manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. Communicates and monitors production measurement metrics and sets performance targets at the team and individual level for all distribution-related functions that align with company objectives and are within regulatory guidelines. Being a Distribution Manager utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies. Troubleshoots and resolves escalated operational issues. Additionally, Distribution Manager ensures all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Distribution Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Title: Forklift Operator 

    Department: Operations

    Reports To: Distribution Manager 

    Position Type: Full Time 

    Schedule: 2nd-Shift 2:30pm-11:00pm Monday-Friday with OT if needed

    Pay rate: $21.50-$23.00 per hour


    Purpose of Position


    Use of power equipment to load and unload product using forklift and electric pallet jack to safely move, locate, relocate, stack and count product.  This Job requires frequent heavy lifting, loading and unloading product of up to 50 LBS.

    Follows all rules, guideline, and practices. Informs supervisor / manager immediately if unsafe conduct or conditions arise. 


    Position Competency

    1. Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license.
    2. Ability to use handheld RF Scan Device. 
    3. Must be able to lift 50lbs., sit, stand and walk for extended periods. 
    4. Must be able to twist, stoop, squat and reach above shoulder level.   
    5. Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.

    Position Expectations


    Productivity:

    • Meet established productivity standards specific to the account.
    • Understand the stocking strategy (location of product) of the operations building you are assigned.
    • Follow our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and specific customer work instructions.

    Safety:

    • Follow established Dock Safety policy.
    • Complete lift inspection (electronic/paper) prior to operation.
    • Report all equipment malfunctions to manager and/or maintenance immediately.
    • Follow safety and security policies and SOPs. 

    Quality:

    • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are error and damage free. 
    • Ensure that product is scanned properly and matches the Item code on the product, pick lists, stocking lists, and physical product.
    • Complete all Inbound and Outbound paper work accurately and completely.
    • Report all product damage to your supervisor/manager.
    • Follow our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and specific customer work instructions.
    • Maintain inventory accuracy and report all inventory discrepancy to supervisor/manager.

    Initiative:

    • Knowledge of multiple accounts and/or job functions within given operation.
