Distribution Manager manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. Communicates and monitors production measurement metrics and sets performance targets at the team and individual level for all distribution-related functions that align with company objectives and are within regulatory guidelines. Being a Distribution Manager utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies. Troubleshoots and resolves escalated operational issues. Additionally, Distribution Manager ensures all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Job Description:
The Distribution Manager is responsible for the following: Ensure the efficient delivery of wholesale and turnback units to the appropriate auctions to reduce vehicle deletion time. Supervise a large staff of unionized transporters and manage productivity to reduce costs, enhance customer service and improve performance. Help to manage the in-fleeting process. Work in conjunction with the Fleet and Contribution (yield) departments to ensure the pool is making the correct “move” decisions based on contributory rentals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record. Ability to drive multiple types of vehicles (automatic). Properly manage employees including; training, developing, setting expectations, and disciplining. Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Must be able to carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management due to operational needs. Must have the ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
