Distribution Director manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. Being a Distribution Director utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies.     We are looking for a Director of Distribution interested in starting a SWEET career as part of our Operations business at both our PIM’s Headquarters in Park Ridge, New Jersey and our manufacturing location in Somerset, New Jersey.  

     

    As the Director of Distribution, you will be responsible for all inbound and outbound transportation as well as Raw Materials, Packaging and Finished Goods warehousing. This role will develop overall global logistics and warehousing strategies, effectively coordinate best practices across logistics functions, and foster collaborative partnerships with both PIM colleagues and third-party logistics providers (3PLs). The Director must deliver the agreed to service and financial results by supporting the overall PIM corporate, financial and Supply Chain strategy implementation. The Director of Distribution is a critical member of the Supply Chain Leadership Team.

     

    In this role, you will report to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and work closely with cross-functional teams, including Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Customer Service, and Finance to ensure the smooth coordination and execution of distribution activities and continuous improvement activities. You will collaborate with carriers, freight forwarders, other third-party logistics providers and warehouses to manage relationships and drive continuous improvement in cost and service quality.

     

    Job Description

    • Manage PIM Brands Warehousing and Transportation day-to-day operation in accordance with internal and external customer requirements
    • "Future-proof" our logistics footprint, enabling us to scale and meet the needs of the business
    • Build the domestic and international expansion of our supply chain - from developing the strategy to sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating with various vendors and 3PLs to implementation
    • Develop, implement and monitor dashboards and reporting systems to track key order and fulfillment KPIs, and leverage data-driven insights to optimize processes and reduce costs
    • Spearhead initiatives to continuously innovate and improve our logistics processes and strategies, keeping pace with industry trends and advancements
    • Work with Customer Service and Accounts Receivable to reduce fines and penalties related to customer deliveries
    • Collaborate closely with internal production and customer experience teams to ensure timely fulfillment of orders and project manage the launch of key initiatives
    • Build and mentor a team with top talent that meets the needs of our rapidly scaling business
    • Owning the development, leadership, and execution of the operational strategic plan, including project selection, resource management, and technology innovation.
    • Supporting execution of daily operational activities across multiple sites, ensure all business processes are robust and successfully executed to include daily, weekly, and monthly continuous improvement venues.

    Qualifications


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical discipline (Logistics, Supply Chain, engineering, preferred).
    • 15 years related experience in a manufacturing organization that ships to retailers, food manufacturing experience preferred, Top Tier 3PL, Management Consulting.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SAP, Tableau, and data visualization software.
    •  Strong understanding of transportation management systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related technologies
    • Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets, apply statistical analysis techniques, and derive insights to support decision making
    • Understanding of Transportation processes, methods, and transportation data for both domestic and international freight.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
    • Proven track record of successfully leading transportation optimization initiatives, driving process improvements, and achieving cost savings
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

    • The role requires working on-site: Monday thru Thursday; Work from Home on Friday 
    • Estimated 50% travel to our Somerset, New Jersey manufacturing location.
