Distribution Clerk, Sr. performs a variety of clerical, customer service, and administrative duties to support operations of a distribution center. Monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels are available to fulfill all orders. Being a Distribution Clerk, Sr. ensures that all required paperwork, including labels, packing lists, and transport instructions, is prepared. Utilizes tracking systems to input or look up information. Additionally, Distribution Clerk, Sr. complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Distribution Clerk, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     The Distribution Supervisor:
    • Assists department manager with selection, training, orientation, leadership, evaluation, and counseling of employees.
    • Oversees day-to-day activities of the distribution department and provides assistance as needed
    • Assists manager with inventory reconciliation, inventory transfers, audits, and tissue discards
    • Conducts departmental communication meetings and assists manager with employee assignments and time keeping
    • Ensures distribution staff, materials handling systems, processes and activities are in alignment with OSHA safety guidelines and practices.
    • Develops, implements and maintains all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed for the uniformity and quality of operations and in keeping with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
    • Drives continuous improvement activities related to the Distribution department.
    • Assists in development and achievement of departmental goals consistent with Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services (CBC/CTS’s) mission and strategic plan.
    • Meet operational strategies defined by management by analyzing trends, preparing critical measurements, implementing productivity improvements and resolving problems.
    • Assists in budget development and ongoing monitoring expenses.
    • Works effectively to maintain interdepartmental communication, cooperation, and respect.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements:
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Regular attendance is an essential function of all positions.

    Work Environment/Physical Activities:

    • Must be a proficient PC user.
    • Must understand the concepts of business process documentation and improvement.

    • Be focused, organized and detail oriented to focus on specific tasks for long periods of time.

    • Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
    • Requires ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds repeatedly and without assistance.
    • Meet driver insurability standards as established by the organization.
