Distribution Clerk performs a variety of clerical, customer service, and administrative duties to support operations of a distribution center. Monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels are available to fulfill all orders. Being a Distribution Clerk ensures that all required paperwork, including labels, packing lists, and transport instructions, is prepared. Utilizes tracking systems to input or look up information. Additionally, Distribution Clerk complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Distribution Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     The responsibility of the Biller position is to create appropriate freight bills/delivery receipts, invoices and documentation to ensure all deliveries are billed in an accurate and timely manner.
    Job Description:
    Essential Job Functions:

    • Enter customer shipping, commodity, pieces, weight, and pricing on each bill accurately and expeditiously to ensure correct freight will be loaded.
    • Scan bill of ladings, proof of delivery and other required documentation to Imaging System and classify with their correct trace numbers.
    • Assist others in the department with all aspects of the data entry, scanning, and filing of customer information.
    • Generate delivery receipt and invoices for drivers.
    • Create freight bills for freight charges from shipper.
    • Look up shipping codes and determine appropriate expediting and "short cuts" available in OHFL billing systems.
    • Ensure appropriate coding and billing is created for special handling requirements (i.e. Hazmat, COD, etc.) to maximize revenue opportunities.
    • Audit bills created by system to ensure accuracy before providing to drivers for delivery to customers.
    • Participate as a member of the billing team to successfully complete all billing in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
    • Support partner relationship for Canadian freight and associated additional documentation for these international shipments.
    • Back up phone responsibilities as required.
    • create and maintain inventory of pro labels to assist in customer shipment tracking
    • General office duties.

    Abilities required:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Highly focused and great attention to detail
    • Incumbent will have a strong interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking and time management abilities
    Technical Skills:
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Basic knowledge of accounting software such as Quickbooks is preferred but not required.
    Preferred Work experience:
    • Previous experience as a billing clerk or in a similar role.
    • Experience in Transportation / Logistics / Trucking industry preferred.
    Education Requirements

    • High School Diploma or equivalent

    Physical Work Environment:

    • Sitting for long periods of time is required
    • Walking and climbing stairs is required at times
    • Comfortable working in a collaborative and ‘’open work office” environment

    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: From $16.00 per hour
