Distribution Manager

Responsibilities

The Distribution Manager will manage all daily operations.  You must be able to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment.  Generate, reconcile, process reports, including researching inventory discrepancies and partner with other departments as needed. The successful candidate must be able to provide effective leadership of operational execution and planning to ensure the absolute best service. And the ability to motivate a team to accomplish common goals.

• Effectively manage manpower in all areas of the department
• Provide training for employees and promote self-development
• Maintain employee attendance records
• Identify and address performance issues
• Work with other departments within the distribution center to solve inbound merchandise processing and shipping problems
• Participate in daily planning meetings with all functional managers
• Interact with and maintain a positive relationship with management, and department staff
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Maintain equipment inventory
• Maintain a high-quality work environment.
• Assist Operations Manager in the development of plans to accomplish departmental goals
• Document and track metrics to measure efficiency of department
• Special projects as needed
• Ensure employee morale is kept at a high standard
• Manage activities designed to reduce the risk of accidents and decrease these safety-related costs
• Ensure organizational safety compliance and promote awareness

Qualifications

• Must have 4 years of experience managing in a distribution environment
• High School diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or a related field preferred
• Ability to verbally communicate effectively (i.e., with staff, management, store personnel, etc.)
• Proficiency in Microsoft office products to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
• High confidentiality competence
• Positive professional manner
• Ability to prioritize and organize work related tasks and special projects
• Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment and meet tight deadlines
• Above average written and verbal communication skills
• Work well in a team environment
• Highly detailed oriented
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assign work fairly and according to employee’s competency
• Good customer service skills

Physical Requirements

• Continuously standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and working overhead, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, and crawling
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping, reaching, pulling, and pushing
• Frequent use of ladders and/or lift equipment
• Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more

Pay

The starting range for this position is $53,300 and may increase to $71,000 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
