Distribution Center Supervisor supervises daily planning, organizing, and operations of a distribution center. Oversees one or more of the distribution center functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving. Being a Distribution Center Supervisor monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill all orders. Balances workloads as needed to achieve production and delivery goals for each shift. Additionally, Distribution Center Supervisor utilizes software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems. Provides the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations. Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. Typically requires an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Distribution Center Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Distribution Center Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     OVERVIEW:

    The DC Supervisor is responsible for supervising 25-35 hourly, direct reports and has responsibility for performance management and day-to-day coaching. This position's typical hours will be 06:00 AM - 2:00 PM Monday through Friday with flexibility to cover as the business requires. Over-time is required as scheduled.



    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Provide daily direction to warehouse employees who perform work in shipping, receiving, loading, and unloading trucks, stocking, picking, packing and palletizing finished products, ensuring efficient operations and processes
    • Communicate with staff and employees to drive alignment and consistency to goals and company objectives
    • Manage performance, productivity, attendance, quality, and housekeeping expectations and driver personal accountability
    • Address performance problems, recognition, and provide coaching where appropriate
    • Ensure policies and work practices are administered in a fair and consistent fashion
    • Ensure a continuous focus is place on process improvement and reduction of waste
    • Empower and encourage employees to continually evaluate and improve daily processes
    • Ensure a safety-driven culture
    • Ensure expectations are clearly articulated, safe work practices are adhered to, and hold employees accountable for safety infractions
    • Investigate safety related issues or violations


    ABOUT YOU:

    • 3 years of progressive warehousing experience with 1 year of supervisory experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Ability to read, write and speak the English and Spanish (preferred) language to communicate with employees, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner.
    • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office.
    • Must be able to plan and organize work schedules.
    • Must be able to communicate well, coach, lead, and empower people.
    • Must be able to drive accountability, resolve conflict, and manage performance expectations.
    • Must be able to apply situational leadership techniques in a changing team environment.
    • Must be able to resolve problems and troubleshoot.
    • Must be able to use creativity to seek quality solutions and process improvements while keeping in mind the needs of the business.
    • Must be able to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
    • Must be able to anticipate the needs of internal and external customers and is self-directed in achieving results.
    • Must be able to work any shift, as needed.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
    TRAVEL:

    Some travel required for training purposes. Less than 15%

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
