FUNCTION:  Enforces policies and procedures to ensure the smooth execution of the Distribution Center and create an atmosphere of high productivity while keeping within guidelines of company policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement company policies and procedures.
• Pull employees to coincide with present freight load to ensure adequate turnabout of goods. 
• Prepare department for receipt and placement of daily merchandise.
• Assist with inventory controls.
• Oversee the control of all paperwork for the accounting of merchandise to ensure accurate inventories.
• Motivate workers for high productivity.
• Recognize departmental employees’ job performance and recommends appropriate action to Manager. 
• Participate in annual evaluations.
• Measure and report productivity of employees.
• Responsible for assigned departments appearance and personnel activity.
• Submits requisition for additional personnel to Manager and then to the personnel office. Responsible for the selection, placement, and training of employees. 
• Available to work with buyers during visits to the Distribution Center.
• Work with buyers and merchandisers to process priority merchandise first.
• Open and close the Distribution Center as assigned by the Manager.   
• Prepare incident reports as needed.
• Responsible for the overall security of the Distribution Center and control of internal shrinkage. 
• Inform Manager on current pertinent matters.  Makes recommendations for the improvement of the company’s efficiency, productivity and/or operations results.
• Work in any capacity as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB: THE PHYSICAL DEMANDS LISTED ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF THOSE THAT MUST BE MET TO SUCCESSFULLY PERFORM THE JOB.   REQUIRED TO STAND, WALK, TALK OR HEAR, USE HANDS AND HAVE ABILITY TO REACH OVERHEAD.  REGULAR LIFTING OR MOVING OF UP TO 25LBS, POSSIBLE UP TO 50LBS.   REQUIRES BENDING, STOOPING, AND ABILITY TO CLIMB STAIRS.  SPECIFIC VISION ABILITIES REQUIRED INCLUDE CLOSE VISION, COLOR VISION, AND ABILITY TO ADJUST FOCUS AND ABILITY TO WRITE, COUNT, AND READ REQUIRED SHIPPING/COMPANY PAPERWORK.
