Distribution Center Manager manages the overall planning, organizing, and operations of a distribution center. Oversees all distribution functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving. Being a Distribution Center Manager monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill all orders. Balances workloads as needed to achieve production and delivery goals for each shift. Additionally, Distribution Center Manager utilizes software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems. Provides the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations. Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. May evaluate and select transportation or freight services, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relations. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Center Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.     The Manager, Fulfillment & Distribution oversees all activities related to inbound and outbound transportation, receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and production line supply. The role develops processes, systems, training, and metrics to maximize sales and ensure safety, GMPs, inventory accuracy, order accuracy, space utilization, line supply, and costs achieve targets. The Manager, Fulfillment & Distribution oversees and develops the warehouse, fulfillment, and distribution teams and ensures impeccable customer service to internal and external customers.

    Estimated starting annual base salary is $123,163.57 - $184,745.35 less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Please note that the actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined by the Company, which may include, but is not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, education, skillset, and market conditions. The target base compensation for this role is in the low to middle of the range, with the top of the range reserved for only exceptional circumstances. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive, paid based on Company performance factors.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Strategically oversee all activities related to inbound and outbound transportation, receiving, put-away, storage, order-picking, staging, loading trucks, production line supply, return to stock and customer service.
    • Direct, optimize, and coordinate the full order cycle; review stock levels; reorder and track movement of goods.
    • Ensure that the Warehouse teams consistently meet safety, quality compliance, inventory and order accuracy, space utilization, on-time in-full (OTIF) orders to production, productivity, cost, and timeliness targets.
    • Track and manage all key performance indicators (KPIs) to target including Recordable Injury Incident Rate (RIIR), GMP compliance, enabling revenue target achievement, inventory accuracy, over shortage and damage (OS&Ds), total warehouse utilization, production OTIF, fulfillment and distribution costs, among others.
    • Effectively handle and ensure resolution of Warehouse-related problems, incidents, or complaints.
    • Manage relationships and negotiate agreements with warehouse owners, brokers, carriers, suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.
    • Develop and lead cycle-count program.
    • Ensure order accuracy for both inbound and outbound shipments.
    • Ensure materials, packaging and finished goods are delivered to sites as required for production/customer commitments.
    • Effectively manage the department budget.
    • Continually assess and improve performance.
    • Ensure the maintenance and security of equipment, products, and supplies against damage and theft.

     

    People Leader Responsibilities

    If direct reports are assigned, the position carries out People Leader Responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include:

    • Hire, coach, train, and develop Fulfillment and Distribution staff.
    • Direct and indirect supervision of staff to include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and administering corrective actions; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Provide 360-degree feedback, as requested, for leaders, peers, and subordinate team members.

     

    Required Qualifications

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations management, or related field.
    • 8 years’ professional warehouse, distribution, and supply chain experience.
    • 6 years’ progressive professional experience in leadership, supervision, and management.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
    • Proven success developing and managing high performing teams, including through transformational change.
    • Knowledge of KPIs and proven experience implementing related plans successfully.
    • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in leadership and coordination of people and resources.
    • Proven ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate, and implement solutions.
    • Excellent time management, organization, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    • Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal staff and management. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
    • Must be able to demonstrate practical problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in business administration or related field.
    • Certification in Material Management, APICS, and/or Lean Supply Chain.
    • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
    • Experience working in a cGMP environment.
