Distribution Center Manager manages the overall planning, organizing, and operations of a distribution center. Oversees all distribution functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving. Being a Distribution Center Manager monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill all orders. Balances workloads as needed to achieve production and delivery goals for each shift. Additionally, Distribution Center Manager utilizes software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems. Provides the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations. Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. May evaluate and select transportation or freight services, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relations. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Center Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Distribution Center Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Distribution Center Manager Responsibilities:

     

    • Direct the operations of distribution, packaging, and transportation to achieve company
      objectives and meet customer expectations
    • Evaluate overall operations and develop short and long-term goals to meet organizational
      objectives
    • Oversee all warehousing, distribution, packaging, and transportation operations to ensure
      company and customer requirements are met
    • Focus on continuous improvement and make decisions about enhancing value, service and
      effectiveness, and profitability
    • Direct and oversee programs to ensure safety of all associates, equipment, and property
    • Ensure compliance with all company, customer, and government regulatory requirements
    • Directly manage budget and P&L for operations
    • Develop work plans ensuring appropriate staffing levels, managing labor costs, overtime, and retention
    • Maximizes quality and productivity by understanding and mastering all job standards for each function and evaluating performance variances to identify root cause, corrective action, and training needs
    • Participates in the collection of performance measurements per customer, vendor and/or site requirements
    • Reviews KPIs and makes recommendations for efficiency improvements to both processes and associate performance
    • Establishes a strong relationship with the customer(s)
    • Prepares and submits weekly and monthly reports
    • Deliver a consistent, high-performance experience to our associates and customer
    • Know and be capable of communicating quality, food safety, and customer standards to all employees, customers, and 3rd party auditors as needed
    • Follow corporate and site-specific safety policies and procedures, and correct noncompliance when observed

    Salary: $125,000 - $140,000 annually
