Distribution Center Manager manages the overall planning, organizing, and operations of a distribution center. Oversees all distribution functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving. Being a Distribution Center Manager monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill all orders. Balances workloads as needed to achieve production and delivery goals for each shift. Additionally, Distribution Center Manager utilizes software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems. Provides the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations. Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. May evaluate and select transportation or freight services, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relations. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Center Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Distribution Center Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     • Pushes, pulls, and steers rolling carts throughout warehouse for order selection and loading.
    • Places product into a cart.
    • Operates a manual pallet jack by pulling, leading, and steering palletized product throughout the warehouse and into trucks.
    • Operates an electric “walkie” pallet jack by pulling, leading, and steering palletized product throughout the warehouse and into trucks.
    • Operates an electric “riding” pallet jack by pushing, pulling, leading, and steering palletized product throughout the warehouse and while loading trucks. Driving requires twisting to be able to look in the direction of travel on a continual basis. Operator must continually mount and dismount equipment to pick product onto pallet
    • Picks product onto a pallet requires reaching, pulling, twisting, bending, crouching, and lifting.
    • Operates a lift truck all shift (certified order selector).
    • Performs routine inspections on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning or recharging batteries, and refers defects or repairs to supervisor/ maintenance.
    • Moves controls to drive powered lift trucks and transport materials between loading, unloading, processing, and storage areas.
    • Moves levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, pallet wrappers, load inverters, elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
    • Applies stretch-wrap under, over, or around unitized skids, and boxes, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
    • Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
    • Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
    • Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.

    • Mathematics- Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
    • Language – Ability to identify and compare letters and numbers. Ability to read and interpret documents such as receivers, invoices, operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and write simple sentences.

    • Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
    • Experience: One (1) to two (2)s year related experience in warehouse environment.
