Distribution Center Manager manages the overall planning, organizing, and operations of a distribution center. Oversees all distribution functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving. Being a Distribution Center Manager monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill all orders. Balances workloads as needed to achieve production and delivery goals for each shift. Additionally, Distribution Center Manager utilizes software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems. Provides the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations. Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. May evaluate and select transportation or freight services, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relations. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Center Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. What you will be doing
The Denver Distribution Center is currently looking for a Manager of Warehouse Operations.
The position will be based in Denver, CO.
Main responsibilities
· Lead, coach, and supervise warehouse supervisors and union and non-union personnel.
· Develop annual Operating Plan, adhere to approved budget and attain specific goals and measurable results.
· Implement Company’s “best practice” in managing inventories using a warehouse management system.
· Maintain accurate information within warehouse management systems.
· Establish, monitor, and maintain a safe and sanitary work environment. In strict compliance with government regulations and Company policies.
· Train and develop supervisors, identifying and mentoring high potential candidates.
· Administer CBA and effectively resolve union grievance and issues.
· Successful interaction with other distribution departments.
· Optimized company resources capital and expense.
· Ensure adherence to Safeway policies, procedures, and practices.
· Schedule staff to maximize productivity.
· Ability to effectively manage personnel to ensure productivity.
· Managing a diverse workforce and meeting established BWI initiatives.
· 5S Compliance, Sarbaines-Oxley compliance.
· Meet and exceed accountabilities and measures.
The salary range is $95,400 to $123,900.00 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked). PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility).

What we are searching for
· Bachelor’s degree in logistics or 7 years of related work experience.
· Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, HAACP, FDA, DEA, safety regulations, sanitation, and food safety as required for Warehouse operations.
· Self-motivated, high energy and a strong work ethic.
· Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Access.
· Working knowledge of engineered labor standards.
· Experience working in a union environment is preferred.
· Knowledge of union contract administration.
· Ability to analyze forecast and measure day-to-day operations.
· Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.
· Superior planning and organization skills.
· Effective written and oral communication skills.
· Ability to apply internal control practices.
· Possess initiative, customer service skills, and resourcefulness.
