Air Ground Xpress is an asset-based trucking company headquartered just outside of Pittsburgh PA that has been providing 1st class service to our customers for over 40 years. Our late model company fleet is professionally maintained by Penske both at AGX terminals and on the highway 24/7/365 providing our drivers with the peace of mind necessary to get the job done timely and return home safely.

Air Ground Xpress is looking for a reliable dispatcher to help create trucking routes that keep cost down but meet customer scheduling needs. The dispatcher will be responsible for using AGX. Inc. routing software, Crown, to establish daily trucking routes, that make required stops outlined in customer contracts.

The ideal candidate for this position: (1) previous dispatching experience (2) able to adjust to last minute changes (2) work with drivers to schedule urgent pick up and/or deliveries for clients (3) ability to multitask (4) ability to work in a fast-paced environment (5) organized (6) a team player

Job Description

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

·         Develop delivery routes and maintain contact with drivers throughout the day

·         Schedule loads while utilizing and maximizing available driver hours and close times

·        Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

·         Use effective listening skills to collect required information       

·         Ensuring that the quality of all services provided meets the required service standards

·         Collaborate with team members and management       

·         Communicate effectively and develop relationships with customers and drivers

·         Monday – Friday with a 7 AM start time.  FT w/ overtime, as well

·         Starting wage is $22

Hiring Requirements:

·       Previous experience as a Dispatcher required ~ Minimum of 1 year

·       High School Diploma/GED Required

·       Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional Saturdays

·       Strong Knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area

·       Ability to work in a team environment

·         Knowledge of DOT regulations

·         Typing and computer skills

·         Ability to work 45 to 50 hours a week

·       Must possess excellent verbal, written and communication skills
