DISPATCHER

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is seeking an experienced Dispatcher for our local operations. This position is responsible for the daily scheduling, coordinating, logistics, reporting and inspection necessary for daily trucking operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Daily truck dispatching responsibilities include: the accurate dispatch setup for each shift; communicating with all required levels of management and sending dispatch notifications to all required parties involved; verifying drivers understand daily dispatch and have needed tools and PPE
• Maintain consistent communication with drivers, field personnel, management teams, plant personnel and sub-haulers
• Administrative functions include: tracking DOT medical cards, CDL expiration dates; scheduling time off requests; ensure drivers accurately complete time sheets daily; daily input of driver hours workers, truck hours, truck mileage and material quantities across all active projects; setting up sub-hauler agreements and managing the sub-hauler overall process; completing milling and asphalt haul reports as needed; management and coding of hauling invoices
• Obtain Smith System instructor certification and provide annual training to all CDL and non-CDL company drivers on Smith System driving standards
• Demonstrated knowledge of company policies including safety and incident reporting
• Efficient utilization of company software including: HCSS, FleetWatcher and Tungsten
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in logistics or transportation preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ truck dispatching experience in the construction industry
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience operating GPS and tracking software; computer proficiency required
• Must be willing to work days, nights or weekends as needed
• Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Florida driver’s license
• Employer conducts drug screening and background check
