Dispatcher coordinates drivers and vehicles to convey freight or passengers to assigned destinations in a timely and efficient manner. Maintains contact with drivers to communicate updates, delays, or special instructions and relay delivery status to customers. Being a Dispatcher records driver assignments, delivery time, and other transportation data in a computer database to track metrics. Ensures drivers are compliant with all DOT, state, local, and company regulations. Additionally, Dispatcher requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Dispatcher works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Dispatcher typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. Dispatcher
The Frankfort Plant Board has an opening for a full-time Dispatcher. The successful candidate will assist customers with outage reporting, service questions, disconnects, and technical issues. The successful candidate will receive, transmit, and relay information concerning service outages and activities to, from, and between FPB supervisors, employees, and customers, and 911 center.
Schedule will be a non-traditional work week, which will include some weekends. Shift schedule: 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training. Must be able to respond to calls in emergency situations at all hours.
We offer $19.89 hourly, plus an excellent benefits package including Health, Dental, and Vision insurance and membership in the KY Retirement System. All applicants must be able to successfully complete drug screening and background investigation.
