Disaster Recovery Manager manages the design, implementation, and communication of business continuance and disaster recovery plans and processes that ensure the security and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology. Conducts risk analysis to identify critical operations and systems that are core to continued business operations in the event of a disruption. Being an Disaster Recovery Manager monitors and tests the plans and back up systems. Manages the contracts with required vendors for off-site and other resources required for business continuation and recovery. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Manager develops and deploys training, documentation, and communication of disaster procedures to the organization. Develops service level recovery standards and agreements with vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Disaster Recovery Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Disaster Recovery Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Summary


    As an Application Operations IT PM – Disaster Recovery Program Manager with Minnesota IT Services (MNIT), you will be working at an agency that believes in public service and enhancing lives with technology solutions. You will provide the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), our partner in performance, with management of the MnDOT Application Recovery Disaster Recovery (DR) Program supporting transportation products and services for the good of the Minnesota public. We are seeking a high-energy, self-motivated, and results-driven advanced IT Application Program Coordinator with exemplary communication skills, stakeholder management and proactive leadership. As the Application Operations Disaster Recovery Program Manager, you will provide advanced technical program and project coordination/management. You will coordinate development and maintenance of MnDOT’s DR Plans for 500 applications, managing priority and resourcing for specific applications. This work includes oversight of activities that will result in the testing of DR plans to ensure application continuity in event of a disaster.     **At this time, this position is eligible to work full-time teleworking, hybrid or full-time in the office depending on the needs of the business unit and with supervisor approval.     Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

    This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience performing program and project coordination/management functions, including large scale, cross-functional projects in a complex technology environment.

    Experience must include:

    • Demonstrated achievements in program or project leadership, including planning, directing and implementing complex projects and initiatives on time, within budget and with desired functionality.
    • Experience implementing disaster recovery (DR) and/or business continuity COOP professional practices such as business impact analysis, business continuation planning, alternate site contacts, and testing.

    A Master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field substitutes for three years of experience, OR a related Bachelor’s degree substitutes for two years, OR a related Associate’s substitutes for one year.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience developing and implementing a product plan (business plan) for disaster recovery.
    • Knowledge of Azure sufficient to apply and utilize Azure tools and solutions related to disaster recovery.
    • Knowledge of security practices for prevention, detection as well as enabling tools for authentication, authorization, encryption, filtering, etc.
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification
    • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills
    • Well-developed skills in technical report writing.
    • Human relation skills to lead and work effectively with a diverse team on a day-to-day basis, resolve interpersonal conflict, motivate, and develop team members, and influence stakeholders and key decision-makers.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and proficiently with individuals at all levels in written, verbal, and other forms, and ability to communicate technical details to non-technical people.
    • Good knowledge of the theory, principles, and practice of project and/or program management and development of new products/services.
    • Broad understanding across a multitude of contemporary technologies.
    • Knowledge of electronic government practices.
