Disaster Recovery Manager manages the design, implementation, and communication of business continuance and disaster recovery plans and processes that ensure the security and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology. Conducts risk analysis to identify critical operations and systems that are core to continued business operations in the event of a disruption. Being an Disaster Recovery Manager monitors and tests the plans and back up systems. Manages the contracts with required vendors for off-site and other resources required for business continuation and recovery. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Manager develops and deploys training, documentation, and communication of disaster procedures to the organization. Develops service level recovery standards and agreements with vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Disaster Recovery Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. We are looking for someone who a subject matter expert in disaster recovery and who will assist in enhancing and maturing the Global Technology Disaster Recovery Program. Responsibilities Lead the delivery of consistent disaster recovery (DR) support and services with an emphasis on best practices and increasing levels of maturity. Evaluate and recommends new technologies to solve business challenges and ensure environments remain current. Implement cost management strategies by leveraging innovation and maximize service value to business. Run and report ongoing metrics. Perform periodic reviews to confirm or update Disaster Recovery requirements for all Broadridge Tier 1 and 2 applications, perform application impact analyses, lead and coordinate disaster recovery design and planning sessions. Conduct regular testing and simulations to validate the effectiveness of disaster recovery plans. Employ solid risk and security management practices, creative solutions, and suitable business judgement in delivering business solutions; ensures adherence to regulatory standards as well as compliance and confidentiality policies. Analyze industry, technology, and market trends to stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in infrastructure and resiliency engineering and disaster recovery. Analyze the current business and IT disaster recovery environments to detect critical deficiencies and recommends solutions for improvement. Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure effective disaster recovery solutions. Aid in the development and execution of the overall strategy and program related to disaster recovery procedures and controls, enabling technology business continuity, sound disaster recovery practices, and ensure that Broadridge can resume full operations in the event of a crisis or disaster. Develop and execute annual disaster recovery plans; assess and improve the disaster recovery program by evaluating governance models, risks to technology services, and disaster recovery processes and procedures. Partner with IT and business stakeholders to evangelize and drive resilient application architecture design, particularly in cloud native/modern systems. Facilitate After Action Reviews following an incident or exercise to assess the response effort, identify lessons learned to be incorporated in the plans, enhance response capabilities and report findings and recommendations to the appropriate business team. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of continuous experience in technical disaster recovery program management, with an emphasis on supporting cloud environments. Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering or related field or equivalent experience Professional certification in Disaster Recovery Planning desired. In-depth knowledge of the technologies they are currently supported and a proven willingness to stay knowledgeable about and introduce new technologies that would enhance our businesses. Ability to work in a highly collaborative and highly matrixed, fast-paced, entrepreneurial, transparent, and flexible work environment. Proven experience providing 24/7 services and operations. Must be willing to work occasional weekends and off-hours in the support of actual or simulated disaster recovery events. Ability to build strong insightful relationships quickly; must have top-notch communication skills (oral and written); must be able to network effectively at all levels but especially at the executive and business partner level. Strategic and insightful in their thinking, with good judgment, and an intuitive sense of where to look for opportunities to support the business from a technology standpoint. Hands on experience administering and using Disaster Recovery Planning tools (BCIC, EBRP, FusionRM) Demonstrated “body of knowledge” regarding industry best practices and ability to stay current. Demonstrated experience in supporting the development and implementation of Disaster Recovery programs, implementing policy and/or governance programs. Strong initiative, with the ability to work in an ambiguous environment with little supervision or guidance. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities with strict deadlines. Flexible and adaptable to change. Expertise in Business Resiliency requirements, setting and measuring Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), Disaster Recovery planning and Project Management Business knowledge and partnerships; able to translate continuity and resiliency terminology, posture, standing, and risks to stakeholders and regulators. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
