Disaster Recovery Director leads the development of a comprehensive business continuity strategy and programs, plans, and toolsets that support response, develop resiliency, and enable recovery from events that disrupt business operations. Establishes a framework and methodology to manage all business continuity life cycle activities, including risk assessment, business impact analysis, strategy development, implementation, testing and review, plan maintenance and updates. Being a Disaster Recovery Director leads periodic review, validation, and workflow testing of documented business continuity plans. Develops and implements organization-wide training and communications. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Director supports internal audits and regulatory exams of compliance with required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or similar BCP certification. Typically reports to top management. The Disaster Recovery Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Disaster Recovery Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     This is a dynamic position overseeing all marketing and development for a rapidly growing recovery community organization. This position will provide a competitive base salary along with a generous and unique incentive plan that will reward success and results to help the right candidate grow with our organization. The Director of Marketing and Development will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director, Director of Operations, and Board of Directors to develop fundraising goals and strategies. In addition you will help to build and manage SOS Recovery Community Organization's (including our Fold'd Community Diner social enterprise restaurant) brand and all aspects of marketing communications in order to raise the awareness of the organization.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Oversees the marketing and development department and staff.
    • Assigns, plans, and oversees the work of development staff.
    • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
    • Is involved in and handles hiring, development, discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Works with the Executive Director to determine the mission, purpose, and priorities of the organization.
    • Sets annual monetary goals and budgets according to short- and long-term goals.
    • Establishes fundraising objectives for the organization, setting one year, five year, and longer-term goals.
    • Maintains a list of potential financial donors including corporations, foundations, and individuals.
    • Oversees marketing and communication strategies for the organization and collaborates with the board of directors, executive director and director of operations to build strategic marketing plans across the organization.
    • Oversees social media platforms, website updates, and communications to the community.
    • Produces relevant and informative fundraising literature for distribution to previous donors and the public.
    • Researches potential sources of, and applies for, grants and public funding.
    • Oversees the fundraising process and maintains records of receipts and disbursements of funds.
    • Plans and oversees organization of fundraising events including the annual Recovery, Inclusion, Community and Harm Reduction Conference and Recovery Rally and any other events that effectively communicate the purposes of the organization.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications and Skills/Abilities:

    • Extensive knowledge of fundraising strategies and principles.
    • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Ability to foster and develop relationships and partnerships with stakeholders and donors.
    • Knowledge of tax planning principles and techniques that favor charitable giving.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
    • Working knowledge and ability to maintain social media platforms and websites (Wordpress and Elementor based).
    • Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings as necessary
    • Working knowledge of harm reduction strategies and a variety of addiction recovery modalities and ability to articulate the delivery of multiple pathways of recovery in a community-based setting is preferred.
    • Ability to consider and incorporate diverse perspectives, while brokering positive relationships
    • Ability to adapt approach, style, and methods to best engage and empower community partners
    • Ability to listen and integrate community stakeholder feedback and recommendations

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelors Degree preferred, or combination of education and significant demonstrated experience.
    • Extensive and diversified background with at least 3 years of development and marketing experience.
    • 3 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in a non-profit organization.
