Disaster Recovery Director leads the development of a comprehensive business continuity strategy and programs, plans, and toolsets that support response, develop resiliency, and enable recovery from events that disrupt business operations. Establishes a framework and methodology to manage all business continuity life cycle activities, including risk assessment, business impact analysis, strategy development, implementation, testing and review, plan maintenance and updates. Being a Disaster Recovery Director leads periodic review, validation, and workflow testing of documented business continuity plans. Develops and implements organization-wide training and communications. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Director supports internal audits and regulatory exams of compliance with required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or similar BCP certification. Typically reports to top management. The Disaster Recovery Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Disaster Recovery Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Peer Recovery Coach is a person who has progressed in their own recovery from alcohol or other drug abuse or mental disorder and is willing to self-identify as a peer and work to assist other individuals. The Recovery Coach, provides peer support services; serves as a consumer advocate; provides consumer information and peer support for consumers in a variety of settings. The Recovery Coach performs a wide range of tasks to support consumers in living their own lives and directing their own recovery and wellness process.
The CPRM credential is a State of Michigan certification for individuals working as part of a clinical treatment or recovery support services teams. It is not an independent practice credential. The primary focus of the CPRM is on alcohol/drug use recovery. However, personal recovery history and experience may include areas other than alcohol or drug dependency recovery; with peer mentors providing support only with clients of common experience.
