Disaster Recovery Director leads the development of a comprehensive business continuity strategy and programs, plans, and toolsets that support response, develop resiliency, and enable recovery from events that disrupt business operations. Establishes a framework and methodology to manage all business continuity life cycle activities, including risk assessment, business impact analysis, strategy development, implementation, testing and review, plan maintenance and updates. Being a Disaster Recovery Director leads periodic review, validation, and workflow testing of documented business continuity plans. Develops and implements organization-wide training and communications. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Director supports internal audits and regulatory exams of compliance with required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or similar BCP certification. Typically reports to top management. The Disaster Recovery Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Disaster Recovery Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     LightEdge’s Technical Disaster Recovery Specialist is an expert in the consultation of LightEdge Disaster Recovery methodologies and will provide courteous and professional support while working directly with customers on the design, development, and execution of disaster recovery runbooks and technologies. This position is a key role at LightEdge and aims to help customers ensure business continuity in the event of production disruptions.

    Responsibilities:
    • Work with customers in pre-sales engagement to assess current business continuity planning status and scope disaster recovery project requirements. 
    • Collaborate with sales, service delivery, operations, and engineering teams to ensure solutions are designed and deployed to support customer recovery requirements. 
    • Effectively communicate project status to Project Managers and client. 
    • Configuration and testing of multi-site failover solutions utilizing enterprise class technologies. 
    • Manage the testing lifecycle to support and facilitate post-test and recurring testing cycle and review with customers. 
    • Complete all design documentation, including equipment configuration and disaster recovery plans / runbooks quickly and completely following a project completion for customer acceptance. 
    • Ensure Project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately. 
    • Update existing customer information pages and Asset / CMDB repositories. 
    • Contribute toward collaborative sessions during interdepartmental discussions. 
    • Continuous innovation and improvement toward the Disaster Recovery product and processes. 
    • Minimum 40 hours/week required. 
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Experience:
    • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Information Technology, a related field, pertinent certifications, or an equivalent blend of academic background and professional experience. 
    • Accumulation of 5 years of robust comprehension and proficiency in one or more of the ensuing specialized domains: 
    o Backup and Data Replication: Zerto, Veeam, VCDA 
    • Proficiency with Linux operating systems and appliances. 
    • Familiarity with SQL Clustering is advantageous. 
    • Networking: encompassing routers, switches, etc., with a preference for Cisco expertise 
    • Security: spanning hardware & software firewalls, load balancers, etc., with a preference for Cisco or FortiGate familiarity 
    • Virtualization: proficiency in VMware (preferred), HyperV, Kubernetes, etc. 
    • Prior engagement in a datacenter environment or within a managed service provider. 
    • Possession of adept troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. 
    • Previous involvement with real-world incidence response teams. 
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal aptitudes conducive to collaborative team dynamics, showcasing the capacity to influence both internal and external stakeholders and clients. 
    • Capability to oversee multiple projects concurrently within a high-paced setting.
    • Proficiency in independent task management, with the ability to adapt priorities accordingly. 
    • Exhibits professionalism even in high-stress situations. 
    • Demonstrated proclivity for continual learning and adaptability to technological shifts
