Performs risk management analysis and documents disaster recovery plans. Being an Disaster Recovery Analyst identifies and secures the necessary off-site resources required for the organization's resumption plan. Develops and executes testing processes to validate the disaster recovery plans and identify the plans' weaknesses and failure points. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Analyst confirms all action plans are documented, communicated, and understood by all stakeholders in the organization. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Experience in developing and implementing BC/DR plans for complex IT environments, specifically addressing security applications.
Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards related to BC/DR and information security.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead initiatives from conception to completion.
Effective communication skills to articulate complex BC/DR concepts and requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Relevant certifications such as CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional) or similar are highly desirable.
