Disaster Recovery Analyst implements and supports the policies, procedures, and programs that ensure the recovery, security, and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology in the event of a disruption or unanticipated disaster. Performs risk management analysis and documents disaster recovery plans. Being an Disaster Recovery Analyst identifies and secures the necessary off-site resources required for the organization's resumption plan. Develops and executes testing processes to validate the disaster recovery plans and identify the plans' weaknesses and failure points. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Analyst confirms all action plans are documented, communicated, and understood by all stakeholders in the organization. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Disaster Recovery Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Senior Disaster Recovery Engineer

  • The Senior Systems Engineer, Disaster Recovery (DR), is responsible for execution of First Tech’s overall IT Disaster Recovery Program. This role will partner closely with internal and cross functional partners, on a number of initiatives which are core to this position. Both collaboration and leadership skills are essential in this role in order to ensure compliant programs and the recoverability of critical systems and services.    
    Here's what you can expect from the job and what you need to be successful:    
    Job Duties    
    • Partner with IT teams and Business partners to lead Disaster Recovery program initiative, taking ownership over the deployment, testing and validation of program capabilities ensuring they are in line with First Tech’s established standards, policies and guidelines
    • Ensure the DR Program capabilities are aligned with technology roadmaps and updated in pace with evolving technologies and services in partnership with the Engineering and Architecture teams
    • Deploy, manage and maintain DR capabilities and services while tracking overall cost, ensuring efficiencies and cost management are in alignment with IT budgets and strategies
    • Ensure the IT DR strategy and recovery plans are compliant with First Tech and (Auditor’s) standards through developing well established and documented policies and procedures
    • Validate the effectiveness of recovery plans and backup processes including, successful completion and documentation of quarterly backup and recovery tests
    • Ensure program elements critical to recovery of IT and Member impacting services are built, maintained and able to be readily deployed in partnership with IT teams and business partners
    • Successfully execute First Tech’s Disaster Recovery Exercise(s), facilitating and coordinating the efforts of IT Teams, and business partners in the documentation of run books and service testing/validation
    • Develop product evaluations and testing plans for core technologies
    • Collaborate regularly with Business Continuity team to validate business processes, and ensure annual BCP/DR strategies are completed
    • Ensure continuous functional and technical improvement of recovery infrastructure and policies
    • Provide after hours support as required
      
    Essential Skills    
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in systems engineering, data center/computer operations and/or applications development
    • Advanced knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DR) implementation principles and best practices
    • Advanced understanding of networking concepts and application delivery
    • Demonstrated ability to research and update existing DR systems using current industry standards
    • Proven ability to partner and lead cross-functional initiatives to execute a common goal
    • Experience in backup technologies such as Azure Cloud, Cohesity, and SAN/NAS based storage, with experience performing backup in a virtualized environment
    • Strong knowledge and experience with VMWare, specifically System Replication and Storage Replication
    • Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Cloud technologies, specifically System and Storage Replication and recovery
    • Strong technical, quantitative and analytical problem solving skills with the ability to think strategically and translate strategy into action plans
    • Ability to work autonomously to manage time effectively and prioritize work appropriately to meet deadlines
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability express ideas concisely and logically
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle and SQL
    • Knowledge and experience with AWS Cloud technologies is a plus
    • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience required
      
    Location:   Hillsboro, OR 97124 | (HYBRID)    
    Target Compensation in Hillsboro, OR: $108k - $122,500 annually annual bonus    
    Target Compensation in Rocklin, CA: $118,800 - $134k annually annual bonus  
    Target Compensation in San Jose, CA: $135k - $152k annually annual bonus
