Disaster Recovery Analyst implements and supports the policies, procedures, and programs that ensure the recovery, security, and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology in the event of a disruption or unanticipated disaster. Performs risk management analysis and documents disaster recovery plans. Being an Disaster Recovery Analyst identifies and secures the necessary off-site resources required for the organization's resumption plan. Develops and executes testing processes to validate the disaster recovery plans and identify the plans' weaknesses and failure points. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Analyst confirms all action plans are documented, communicated, and understood by all stakeholders in the organization. Typically requires a bachelor's degree.     The Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) Specialist in the healthcare sector is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining strategies and plans to ensure the organization's resilience in the face of disruptions. This role involves the creation of comprehensive business continuity and disaster recovery frameworks, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating efforts to minimize the impact of unforeseen events on business operations.

    • Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans, policies, and procedures.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify critical business processes and define recovery time (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO).
    • Coordinate and conduct regular testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
    • Ensure plans are updated based on business processes, technologies, and organizational structure.
    • Develop and implement emergency response and crisis management plans.
    • Provide guidance and support during actual incidents to minimize downtime and impact on operations.
    • Maintain detailed documentation of BCDR activities, including plans, test results, and incident response actions.
    • Generate regular reports for management, highlighting the status of BCDR initiatives and areas for improvement.’
    • Analyze the impact of various disruptions on business operations and prioritize risk mitigation strategies.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Job Summary:

    Provides subject matter expertise on two or more of the cybersecurity technologies. Provides maintenance, updates, and upgrades on specific technologies. Is accountable for and assigned to major projects, IT Security Risk Assessment, Analysis and Management.

    Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Manages security of confidential information, assets and intellectual property, reviews all systems allowing access or attempted access to the network and ensures proper security controls are in place.
    • Monitors systems to detect intrusions and protect against hackers and viruses, Provides higher level administration on desktop encryption and monitors applications to ensure security protection.
    • Assists in network security architecture design and planning, disaster recovery infrastructure design and the evaluation of new network technologies.
    • Researches and assists with creation of network security policies and monitors all aspects of HIPAA security policy, ensures accuracy of audit software and creates interfaces with EHR applications.
    • Conducts Electronic Health Record (EHR) access provisioning, auditing E.H.R. system access; works closely with internal and external auditors and security assessment practitioners.
    • Conducts regular information security risk assessment of security controls, programs and procedures.
    • Conducts risk analysis and provides regular follow up with risk owners. Ensures all risk assessment effort meets and exceeds all required regulatory requirements and is continuously improved to meet high standards and maturity.
    • Provides network security support for projects.
    • Assists in identifying various security solutions and technologies.
    • Participates in emergency response team activities.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent years of experience and education

    • Five years' experience

    • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
    • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
    • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
    • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
    • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
    • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
    • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
    • Rare climbing.
