Disaster Recovery Analyst implements and supports the policies, procedures, and programs that ensure the recovery, security, and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology in the event of a disruption or unanticipated disaster. Performs risk management analysis and documents disaster recovery plans. Being an Disaster Recovery Analyst identifies and secures the necessary off-site resources required for the organization's resumption plan. Develops and executes testing processes to validate the disaster recovery plans and identify the plans' weaknesses and failure points. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Analyst confirms all action plans are documented, communicated, and understood by all stakeholders in the organization. Typically requires a bachelor's degree.     The Senior IT Disaster Recovery (DR) Project Manager will be responsible for managing the activities to ensure that Parexel is able to recover our IT systems in the event of a disaster and perform DR testing exercises. This includes DR Plan creation and review, annual testing of required applications, preparing for and managing the DR Test events, maintaining required documentation pre and post DR Tests, and managing application recovery in the event of a production disaster.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Partner with leadership, subject matter experts, and management to develop detailed and comprehensive disaster recovery plans for each required application
    • Act as liaison for auditing and examination of disaster recovery processes
    • Assist in managing recovery during a crisis event as needed and assist with incident response
    • Determine critical business processes and establish resources required for the successful resumption of business operations in the event of a disaster
    • Document situation reports and lessons learned for actual incidents and exercises
    • Manage DR Program using the Business Continuity Software Suite (RecoveryPlanner)
    • Establish and maintain detailed DR communications and command and control plans
    • Establish and maintain the overall plans for executing all DR procedures and understand their interdependencies
    • Maintain policies and procedures for the Disaster Recovery Program
    • Manage change control process to keep all plans updated for changes in recovery team members, facilities, services and systems
    • Partner with the Incident Management team and assist in facilitating business recovery, as required
    • Performs regular reviews and updates to all program activities to identify areas of opportunity for improvement and enhanced operational resiliency
    • Provide disaster recovery planning, testing oversight, and governance
    • Provide expertise and support to management and business functional areas, as required, when a business disruption occurs
    • Provide ongoing feedback for risk management, mitigation, and prevention
    • Schedule and lead all DR exercises
    • Complete required Documentation pre/post DR exercises

    Qualified candidates should possess:

    • 10 years of experience in computer technology and/or information systems
    • Foundational knowledge of servers (Windows, Linux), applications, databases, storage/backup and networks
    • 8 years of IT project management
    • Previous experience in a large global organization
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
    • Ability to present to SLT on disaster recovery planning, testing and results
    • Critical thinking skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

    Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
    • PMP certificate preferred
