Disaster Recovery Analyst implements and supports the policies, procedures, and programs that ensure the recovery, security, and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology in the event of a disruption or unanticipated disaster. Performs risk management analysis and documents disaster recovery plans. Being an Disaster Recovery Analyst identifies and secures the necessary off-site resources required for the organization's resumption plan. Develops and executes testing processes to validate the disaster recovery plans and identify the plans' weaknesses and failure points. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Analyst confirms all action plans are documented, communicated, and understood by all stakeholders in the organization. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Incumbent prepares workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail operations to be performed by equipment and computer programs and operations to be performed by personnel in system.
1) Ensure the quality and delivery of application operations supporting the business in accordance with agreed standards
2) Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
3) Collaborate with internal and external parties in an effort to meet job objectives.
4) Develop competence in writing scripts, packages and functions as needed to support the applications.
5) Respond to requests for configuration changes as directed by Management.
6) Collaborate with Systems Administrator to troubleshoot hardware and OS-level issues on all platforms.
7) Able to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences in written and non-written formats.
