Job Summary:
The Disaster Relief Specialist will be responsible for coordinating the daily on-site safety activities while administering and implementing the Health and Safety programs that ensure compliance with statutory requirements to promote safe and healthy working conditions. Perform assignments of moderate complexity following the direction of the assigned Manager. Supports implementing established policies and procedures. Prepares reports, provides site inspections, supports established safety programs, and conducts training and orientation.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
Oversee day-to-day safety operations for transmission and distribution projects
Provide oversight of regulations and policies.
Implements established site specific plans and procedures covering a variety of safety issues.
Collects and builds reports of safety metrics throughout the year.
Assist with Incident Investigations.
Collect data, establish facts, and perform root cause analysis reporting to the management team.
Prepare required documentation and incident reporting and create safety alerts.
Assist with develop and implementation of hazard mitigation practices.
Assist with monitoring and implementing Safety Management System programs to ensure compliance in accordance with all company, local, state, and federal regulations.
Participate in Site Safety auditing.
Observe and ensure implementation of Safe Work Practices on site including compliance with site safety requirements.
Participate and assist in leading daily safety meetings with assigned project team.
Evaluate hazards in work tasks, work environments, and JSA’s with team.
Communicate results of safety meeting including action plans, personnel tasks, and targeted deadlines.
Conduct the scheduling of any safety training required.
Other Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Must have good written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
2. Ability to read and interpret policies, programs, and regulations.
3. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and ensure prompt completion of tasks and assignments.
4. Must be a self-starter. Relies on minimal guidelines and timetables to perform the functions of the job.
5. Competent with Microsoft Office products, Internet, and other database programs.
Qualifications:
Required:
CUSP
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Construction Safety and 2 years’ as a Safety Specialist
Familiarity with OSHA regulations, ANSI, and other applicable EHS guidelines and industry standards
CSST or equivalent certification, First-Aid/CPR,
Preferred:
Working towards ASP or CUSP

Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
