Disaster Recovery Administrator implements and supports the policies, procedures, and programs that ensure the recovery, security, and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology in the event of a disruption or unanticipated disaster. Performs risk management analysis and documents disaster recovery plans. Being an Disaster Recovery Administrator identifies and secures the necessary off-site resources required for the organization's resumption plan. Develops and executes testing processes to validate the disaster recovery plans and identify the plans' weaknesses and failure points. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Administrator confirms all action plans are documented, communicated, and understood by all stakeholders in the organization. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Disaster Recovery Administrator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     The Disaster Recovery (DR) Security Specialist is part of the IT compliance team. Under the mentorship of the IT compliance manager, the DR Security Specialist will coordinate disaster recovery exercises for mission critical applications within our Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products portfolio.

    What you will bring :

    • Familiarity with business continuity program life cycle plans and disaster recovery / crisis management activities.
    • Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Superb communication skills (both oral / written), including the ability to clearly communicate and coordinate exercise activities to an audience that can include both technical and non-technical partners.
    • Curiosity, inquisitiveness, and a bias towards collaboration.

    What you will be doing :

    • Work with Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products partners to ensure that disaster recovery solutions are adequate, in place, maintained, and tested as part of the regular operational life cycle.
    • Maintain the overall plans and templates for executing all DR procedures and understand their interdependencies.
    • Develop and understand all testing vital for successful DR execution.
    • Schedule DR exercises for critically important applications.
    • Provide ongoing feedback for issue mitigation and prevention.
    • Develop briefings, reports, and presentations for customers and partners across the organization.
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the extended team and key partners.
    • Help ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.

    Basic Qualifications :

    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in related field
    • Understanding of current recovery solutions and high availability architectures.
    • Knowledge of general information security principles, practices, and procedures.
    • Knowledge of common operating systems, networking protocols, databases, and applications.
    • Ability to accommodate scheduling around business operation hours.
    • Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CBCP, PMP, or similar, are preferred.
    • Experience with running large scale projects.
    • Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP) from both operational and response perspectives.
    • Ability to function both as an individual with limited oversight as well as in a collaborative team environment.

    Education

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information protection, or comparable field of study, and / or equivalent work experience.
