Disaster Recovery Administrator implements and supports the policies, procedures, and programs that ensure the recovery, security, and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology in the event of a disruption or unanticipated disaster. Performs risk management analysis and documents disaster recovery plans. Being an Disaster Recovery Administrator identifies and secures the necessary off-site resources required for the organization's resumption plan. Develops and executes testing processes to validate the disaster recovery plans and identify the plans' weaknesses and failure points. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Administrator confirms all action plans are documented, communicated, and understood by all stakeholders in the organization. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Disaster Recovery Administrator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Job Summary:

    Dexian is seeking a Senior Disaster Recovery Engineer/Coordinator for an opportunity with a client located in Chicago, IL.

    Responsibilities:

    • Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans, including risk assessments, continuity strategies, and response procedures
    • Risk Assessment: Identify potential threats and vulnerabilities, conducting risk assessments to evaluate their impact on business operations
    • Disaster Recovery Testing: Plan, execute, and evaluate regular disaster recovery exercises to validate the effectiveness of recovery plans and make necessary adjustments
    • Coordination: Collaborate with IT, security, and other relevant departments to ensure alignment between disaster recovery and security strategies
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of disaster recovery plans, procedures, and incident response protocols
    • Incident Response: Lead disaster recovery efforts in the event of a disruption, coordinating the response and recovery activities
    • Training and Awareness: Develop and provide training to employees on disaster recovery and business continuity procedures to enhance preparedness
    • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and evolving threats to continually improve disaster recovery capabilities

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of 10 years' experience in disaster recovery and business continuity planning including:
      o Experience in coordinating and leading disaster recovery exercises and response efforts
      o Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining comprehensive disaster recovery plans
      o Strong knowledge of disaster recovery methodologies, tools, and technologies
    • 7 years of project management experience, may be inclusive of the above
    • Certification such as CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional) or equivalent is a plus
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in high-stress situations
    • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards
