Director of Total Quality Deployment deploys total quality operational excellence policies and programs within an organization. Develops master plans, timelines, and budget allocation for implementation. Being a Director of Total Quality Deployment forms and guides cross functional teams. Ensures programs educate and motivate employees to achieve a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, Director of Total Quality Deployment utilizes Six Sigma/Lean methodologies and typically is certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing or similar area. Typically reports to senior management. The Director of Total Quality Deployment manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Director of Total Quality Deployment typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The Quality Inspector is a temporary, open ended position located in Buellton, CA. Hours are from 8am to 4:30pm or similar, Monday through Friday. The rate of pay is between $20 and $25/hr. depending on experience.

    **This position does require a background check**

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Perform inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished company products according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/or electrical measurements.
    • Rework or reject subassemblies or finished products as required.
    • Conduct and document process and system audits using and maintaining written procedures as audit standards.
    • Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing.
    • Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Coordinate calibration of all test equipment and fixtures.
    • Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration.
    • Participate in the construction and/or revision of SOP's for the inspection function.
    • Initiate the writing and updating of inspection procedures, protocol and checklists.
    • Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action to Manager.
    • Work with Production Management to provide feedback to assemblers regarding accuracy of assembly
    • Perform review of historical records and other documentation for compliance to established procedures and good documentation practices.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Skills & Qualifications

    • High School diploma required.
    • Associate's degree or equivalent in Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field strongly preferred.
    • At least one year of quality experience within production environment and/or manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
    • Prior Mechanical Inspection and ISO Experience preferred.
    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and arithmetic skills are required.
    • Working knowledge of measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, optical instruments/tools and surface plate inspection) required.
    • Knowledge of various coatings, heat treat operations, NDT, castings, surface finishes desired.
    • Ability to work with little supervision and in various inspection areas with willingness to perform other tasks as needed.
    • Detail-oriented mindset with experience in data entry and computer database skills required.
    • Understanding of safety protocols and requirements.
