Director of International Education leads and directs all aspects of the institution's international programs. Oversees programs, activities, faculty affairs, and academic support services. Being a Director of International Education develops and implements strategies to attract and retain students and faculty. Oversees the operations of the study abroad and foreign exchange programs, the international admissions process, and English language programs. Additionally, Director of International Education ensures that the curriculum remains current and is in compliance with accreditation standards. Monitors the documentation and visa application processes. Oversees the departmental budget and management of expenditures throughout the year. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Director of International Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Position Summary | The Global Education Office (GEO) is seeking an energetic,
creative, international enrollment management professional to direct the
International Admissions and Recruitment (IA&R) team, generate and operationalize
a recruitment strategy to increase the enrollment of international
undergraduate and graduate students to UNM, and serve as a member of the GEO Senior
Staff leadership group. This position requires active collaboration with the
Executive Director for Global Education Initiatives in developing and improving
processes and procedures that result in increased recruitment and retention
rates for international students at UNM. The position must work diligently to
expand and enhance relationships with counselors at overseas schools,
EducationUSA advisors, agents, and other constituencies to maintain a pipeline
of diverse international students. This position also requires regular
engagement with GEO colleagues and key stakeholders at the University to ensure
coordination of campus recruitment efforts and the targeted growth of the international
student community at our university.
