Job description
Anderson is seeking to bring on a mail room desk and transportation lead at our Poway, CA office. Provides operational excellence by coordinating the delivery and transportation of production services offered. Works with multiple internal departments and outside drivers and services to ensure outgoing mail deadlines are met and that mail is within United States Postal Service (USPS) regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
01- CLIENT SERVICE
The Mail Room Desk/Transportation Lead owns the primary relationship with delivery drivers, USPS, freight carriers and other outside services.
· Process jobs and batches of letter and flat sized mail daily to meet postal and regulatory deadlines.
· Responds to questions from different internal departments and outside vendors
· Provides postage and freight estimates as needed.
02- RECORD KEEPING AND ADHERENCE TO REGULATIONS
· Maintain necessary Post Office records to support commercial mail requirements.
· Maintain records of postage and piece counts for all outgoing mail.
· Maintain records of postage expenditures, audit records and production logs.
· Maintain records of freight expenditures, audit records and production logs.
03-ADMINISTRATION
· Attends on-site production meetings if needed.
· Takes ownership of the work process, recommends appropriate solutions when problems arise, and seeks ways to improve efficiency.
· Support training of new employees and cross-training of current staff.
· Perform other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
3-4 years’ related experience in a mail room lead role.
Preferred Knowledge of mail automation software including but not limited to USPS Gateway-PostalOne, and BCC Mail Manager Software platforms is preferred but not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret mail orders.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rates, discounts, percentages, and unit prices.
OTHER SKILLS
Detailed oriented.
Computer navigation skills and familiarity with Outlook, Excel and Word.
Multi-tasking.
Ability to effectively communicate via email, phone, TEAMS, and in person.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables within daily deadlines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk over level and uneven surfaces, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear both in person and over the phone. The employee is required to continuously sit and intermittently to stand. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to intermittently lift, carry and/or move up to 20 pounds and push and/or pull up to 50 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT
