Oversee and coordinates the planning, organizing, training, and leadership necessary to achieve objectives, maximize employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation of The Lodge Retirement Community Dining Areas.
Responsibilities:
Ø Ensure that all residents/guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
Ø Takes orders and delivers food and drinks to residents and guests as needed.
Ø Responds to any additional needs or requests from residents & guests.
Ø Achieve The Lodge Retirement Community objectives in service quality, appearance of facility, and sanitation/cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.
Ø Upholds HR guidelines and is familiar with policies and procedures for the department and facility.
Ø Provide all required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
Ø Follows direction from supervisor, while maintaining and giving feedback with process improvement and food quality in mind.
Ø Responsible for keeping all unused food items labeled and dated.
Ø Follows personal appearance guidelines.
Ø Leads co-workers towards a common goal of exceeding resident/customer expectations.
Ø Can be called upon to teach, train, and mentor Dining Service Staff
Ø Able and willing to lead a team effort, acts as a coach and mentor
Ø Publicly supports team decisions even if they conflict with personal opinions
Ø Takes pride in the desire to excel in work area
Ø Takes initiative to identify and solve problems
Ø Demonstrates initiative and leadership for new programs and development
Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Strong reading, writing, math, and verbal communication skills required.
License & Certificate(s): MUST be 19 years of age. (Liquor service requirement)
Experience: Must have related service experience, preferably in a continuing care retirement community, hotel, restaurant, or private club environment.
Other: Very strong customer service orientation is essential
Working Conditions:
Ø Requires standing, bending, or lifting up to 50lbs for extended periods of time.
Ø Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for period up to four hours in length.
Ø May be subject to slips, falls, burns, and cuts.
Ø May be required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Work Environment
Ø Frequently exposed to extreme heat and/or cold.
Ø Frequently exposed to wet and slippery conditions.
Ø Uses approved chemicals in proper manner as explained in MSDS.
Ø Has access to all applicable PPE.
