Digital Marketing Manager
Full-Time, Hybrid (potential for 100% remote for the right candidate)
Spartanburg Methodist College seeks a full-time Digital Marketing Manager who will be responsible for strategy, placement, optimization and regular reporting on digital advertising and marketing campaigns for SMC’s online programs. You will be primarily focused on developing campaigns for paid search, display, email and social media advertising programs. In our fast-paced, dynamic environment, the Digital Marketing Manager is a key contributor to attracting new traditional age and adult students to our online programs, with a strong focus on growing enrollment among Spartanburg County residents. You will establish KPIs and other metrics to ensure we are meeting campaign goals and will continuously monitor advertising and marketing effectiveness to ensure a solid ROI. You have strong analytics skills, a results-oriented approach and a curious mindset.
This position reports to the Vice President for Marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup, ongoing optimization, and management of PPC/digital advertising campaigns with priority given to SMC Online programs and Spartanburg County lead generation
- Audience and keyword research, landing page development, setup of digital campaign, audience targeting and goal tracking, A/B testing, management of ad budgets, and optimizing for conversions and KPIs
- Dashboard creation, analysis of campaign data and bi-weekly reporting on KPIs to include recommendations and strategy
- Plan, implement, and monitor best-practice SEO strategies by using insights gathered from keyword research, on-page analysis, and technical audits
- Plan, implement, and monitor email campaigns to leads, inquiries and applicants to drive them toward enrollment
- Participate in meetings and strategy sessions, providing consultative feedback based on subject-matter expertise
- Actively collaborate with the Director of Enrollment Marketing and Director of Marketing Communications to align digital advertising campaigns with other ongoing initiatives
- Serve as a subject matter expert, staying on top of the latest trends in digital advertising, analytics and online student acquisition.
- Acquire and maintain technical certifications related to area of expertise
- Additional responsibilities may be added based on the experience and skillset of the employee in the role

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, communications (or a related field)
- Qualified candidates will generally have 3-5 years of hands-on digital advertising experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with search, display and social advertising platforms and tools such as Google Adwords and Analytics (including GA4), TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and others.
- Proficient in Google Looker Studio, and/or other comparable data analytics and visualization tools
- Proficient in the use of collaboration tools such as Teamwork, Basecamp, Monday, etc.
- Experience in implementing event-based conversion tracking using Google Tag Manager or similar platforms
- Proficient in conducting SEO research through tools like SEMRush, Moz, SpyFu, or ScreamingFrog
- Familiarity with self-serve ad platforms such as Amazon Ads, Pandora AudioGo, Spotify Ad Studio, Choozle, or AdRoll is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products, expressly Excel and PowerPoint
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript is preferred
- Experience in creating email and text campaigns marketing automation platforms such as Hubspot, Marketo, Act-On, Slate or similar is preferred
