Digital Marketing Director develops and implements the digital marketing strategy and leads tactical operations to increase product demand, enhance sales, identify additional sales channels, attract traffic to the company website, and promote an online presence. Utilizes search engine optimization (SEO) analytics and search engine marketing (SEM) techniques to increase traffic to the website. Being a Digital Marketing Director leads the development, curation, and deployment of compelling content to attract, engage and retain visitors and promote sales. Employs social media, email, and mobile marketing campaigns. Additionally, Digital Marketing Director reviews online statistics, marketplace trends, and best practices to optimize online marketing performance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Digital Marketing Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. This person will push the boundaries, seek out new opportunities that are at the forefront of cultural transformation, and flawlessly execute digital campaigns to drive deeper brand engagement with our consumers. These digital marketing efforts should drive consumer awareness, recognition and preference of the Avocados From Mexico® brand vs. other avocado brands, for the ultimate goal of increasing overall value for the brand as well as driving consumption with consumers.

    Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing and Innovation, the Associate Director of Digital Marketing is responsible for developing digital strategies and programs, and implementing those campaigns and activations across multiple digital channels and platforms (owned and paid). The Associate Director of Digital Marketing will manage one direct report, a Senior Digital Marketing Manager who will also manage one direct report, and will be responsible for coaching and growing talent while exhibiting an ‘All For One’ mentality to support the Marketing team’s success.
     
    Responsibilities
    • Lead the planning and development of the brand’s digital strategy across our strategic pillars: Brand, Tentpoles, Health & Wellness, and Education.
    • Partner with the digital agency to build the brand’s social content calendar and influencer strategy.
    • Develop materials to communicate the digital thinking, strategies, and campaign results to senior leaders and key stakeholders, demonstrating a high level of strategic thinking.
    • Oversees the execution of all digital marketing campaigns and activations for tentpole programs including Super Bowl, Cinco de Mayo, OND, and Summer, working collaboratively with cross-functional departments.
    • Execute digital marketing campaigns for strategic pillars, including Health & Wellness and Education.
    • Orchestrate the execution of omnichannel digital campaigns across all digital channels and platforms, including but not limited to websites, social media platforms, CRM, etc.
    • Monitor and evaluate campaign results extensively and extract actionable insights to improve the performance of our campaigns on an ongoing basis.
    • Manage several projects simultaneously and maintain schedules, budgets, asset testing, and all project details to ensure all teams are working towards a successful campaign execution.
    • Manage the production of digital content in multiple formats for web and lead front-end web development projects for a variety of digital campaigns from briefing to completion.
    • Deliver future-focused innovative thinking by staying up to date on current and emerging digital trends, best practices, and technologies. Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for adoption where appropriate.
    • Manage multiple agencies and tech partners on the execution of multi-area campaigns with common objectives.
    • Collaborates across the broader marketing team with Brand and Media, along with cross-functional partners, to optimize campaigns and formulate best in class reporting.
    • Lead the agencies through the strategy and planning processes, while managing the day to day ways of working.
    • Lead contract development and work closely with vendors and agencies on billing and scope of work management.
    • Coach and supervise one direct report on day-to-day activities and career development.
    • Additional responsibilities as needed.

    Education/ Experience Requirements
    • 10-14 years of experience working at top-tier ad agencies and/or client-side brands with at least 8 years of experience in digital marketing required.
    • Preferred: Prior Marketing experience working on a recognized CPG brand.
    • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus. Major in Marketing or Advertising is a plus.
    • Prior experience managing teams and developing/coaching direct reports.
    • Super Bowl marketing experience a plus.
