Digital Marketing Director develops and implements the digital marketing strategy and leads tactical operations to increase product demand, enhance sales, identify additional sales channels, attract traffic to the company website, and promote an online presence. Utilizes search engine optimization (SEO) analytics and search engine marketing (SEM) techniques to increase traffic to the website. Being a Digital Marketing Director leads the development, curation, and deployment of compelling content to attract, engage and retain visitors and promote sales. Employs social media, email, and mobile marketing campaigns. Additionally, Digital Marketing Director reviews online statistics, marketplace trends, and best practices to optimize online marketing performance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Digital Marketing Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Job Summary


    This is an opportunity for a strategic marketing leader to direct the planning and successful execution of multifaceted plans to advance the success of the Kelley School of Business.

    Department Specific Responsibilities

    • Serves as the senior marketing leader for Kelley academic programs on the Bloomington campus, including partnering with program and school leaders, and serving as a member of the Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC) leadership team.
    • Reports to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications.
    • Leads and develops a team of marketers located in Bloomington, who create and execute integrated marketing plans and related activities to grow brand awareness and enrollment based on data and insights.
    • Occasionally work includes managing portfolio strategy, hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, assigning work, setting goals and objectives, and ensuring alignment with Kelley School and program objectives.
    • Collaborates and shares ideas, information and best practices with the OMC team supporting the Kelley School on the IU Indianapolis campus.
    • The scope of the marketing team may also include the overall Kelley brand and support for the Office of Development and Engagement (ODE).
    • Ensures campaigns and initiatives are integrated, cohesive, compelling, effective, consistent across platforms, and deliver a strong ROI.
    • Ensures compliance with Kelley and Indiana University brand standards.
    • Refines and optimizes standards and processes to ensure productivity, quality, transparency, and stakeholder satisfaction across all aspects of marketing for programs at Kelley.
    • Assists with budget planning and tracking.
    • Monitors industry trends and best practices, makes process, operational, and strategic recommendations, and assists in implementing procedural changes.
    • Manages relationships with campus partners and outside vendors.
    • Performs other related duties as needed.

    General Responsibilities

    • Directs operations for the marketing and communications function by providing oversight and direction within a department, large multi-faceted department, or multiple departments.
    • Hires, trains, evaluates, coaches, assigns work, sets goals and objectives, determines staffing needs, and directs the work of a team of Marketing Generalists and/or Marketing Assistants.
    • Manages relationships with various internal and external stakeholders; determines marketing needs, projects, and programs to align with objectives and goals and supervises processes such as the development of marketing timelines related to such initiatives.
    • Independently develops, evaluates, and executes basic and highly complex strategic marketing plans for a department, functional area within a department, or large, multi-faceted department to advance goals and objectives, including data collection and market research, target market definition, development of project timelines, sourcing of promotional materials, and marketing content creation.
    • Responds to escalated and complex inquiries and requests from direct reports and stakeholders; acts as a resource and explains policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Assists in budget planning and administration for marketing initiatives, including expenditures, revenue projections, and project and program costs.
    • Regularly researches relevant subject matter to increase knowledge in area(s) of specialty; monitors industry trends and best practices, makes process and operational and strategic recommendations to manager, and assists in implementing procedural changes.
    • May provide guidance to lower-level Marketing Leaders.

    EDUCATION

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, English, public relations, or related field

    WORK EXPERIENCE

    This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment.
