Monitors and documents patient progress and consults with physicians as needed. Being a Dietitian, Sr. educates and provides guidance to staff, patients, and families regarding diet and food plans. Administers and advises food service operations to ensure menus comply with prescribed nutritional plans. Additionally, Dietitian, Sr. may supervise less experienced dieticians. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Dietitian, Sr. work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. JOB DUTIES:
· Coordinate all phases of nutrition care including nutrition assessment, care planning, monitoring, education and counseling of hospitalized patients
· Provide individual and group outpatient nutrition education and MNT
· Evaluate, interpret, monitor and document nutritional status of patients
· Provide appropriate and timely documentation that summarizes the nutrition care plan in a patient’s medical record, including nutrition assessment, diagnosis, plan, implementation, and progress towards goals
· Deliver nutrition education to patient and family members on appropriate food selections
· Perform the duties of instructor for the nutrition portion of the group diabetes education program
