Dietitian reviews physicians diagnosis and designs and implements therapeutic nutritional care plans for patients utilizing general dietetic standards and regulations. Monitors and documents patient progress and consults with physicians as needed. Being a Dietitian educates and provides guidance to staff, patients, and families regarding diet and food plans. Administers and advises food service operations to ensure menus comply with prescribed nutritional plans. Additionally, Dietitian requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Requires Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). The Dietitian gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     How youll make positive change:

    Assesses the nutritional status of neonates/ infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient through documentation in the medical record.

    Develops and revises a nutrition care plan based on information from the patient, medical record, family and health care team members.

    Participates in facility-wide and department Performance Improvement Program and on Performance Improvement teams to improve processes and patient care.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree

    Entry Level - Minimum one (1) year work experience as a dietitian preferred.

    Current Licensure in the State of GA as a Dietitian

    Registered Dietitian (Commission on Dietetic Registration).
