Dietitian - Home Care conducts assessments of patient/caretaker nutritional needs to implement nutritional care plan complying with the medical diagnosis needs. Plans menus, inspects food to ensure portions adhere to set restrictions and dietary standards. Being a Dietitian - Home Care requires a bachelor's degree. Requires state license to practice. Additionally, Dietitian - Home Care requires Registered Dietitian (RD). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Dietitian - Home Care occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist patients with daily activities such as moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles
- Care for patients by changing bed linens, doing laundry, cleaning the home, or assisting with personal care
- Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with supervisor
- Build relationships with patients by conversing or reading aloud to help keep them mentally healthy and alert
- Give medication reminders
- Engage patients in exercises or other activities
- Graduated from an accredited Home Health Aide program
- High School Diploma or GED
- One-year prior professional experience
- Driver’s license required
- CPR certification preferred
