The Therapeutic Dietitian is responsible for planning and delivering comprehensive nutritional care according to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Standards of Practice and Standards for Professional Performance. Provides education to members of the community/patients and residents. In the long-term care setting, performs as a member of the interdisciplinary team, conducting assessments, completing MDS's/CAA's and care planning responsibilities. Implements business practices to uphold AngliCare’s Mission, Vision and Values.

Qualifications

• Minimum
• Bachelor's Degree
• Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
• Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapist within the state of LA
• 0-1 years related work experience

Preferred

• 1-2 years long term care nutrition related work experience
• 1-2 years clinical nutrition related work experience
• Excellent communication skills

• Essential Functions

• Directs nutritional care of patients and residents with basic to comprehensive nutrition needs including screening, assessment care planning and discharge planning to ensure patient nutritional needs and customer satisfaction levels are met
• Educates medical staff and counsel’s patients/residents and their families on proper nutritional care
• Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, nutritional care, special diets and menu requests
• Stays current with most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications and standards of practice
• Ensures compliance with all federal, states and local regulations (i.e. HIPPA/Privacy Act, quality assurance, safety, operations, personnel)
• Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments
• Utilizes analytical thinking, customer focus, drive and dependability
• Maintains interpersonal relationships, high level of integrity and communication
• Requires the ability to work productively and effectively when faced with stressful work situations and pressures
• Presents self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $56.00 per hour

License/Certification:
