Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of staff in a diagnostic imaging department such as nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography or ultrasound. Monitors the adherence to all diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and services. Being a Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree, certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. The Supervisor-Diagnostic works with minimal supervision and exercises discretion and independent judgment in handling personnel issues including equipment malfunctions, scheduling and staffing. Supervises Imaging Specialty-Radiography to ensure high level of service, productivity, and maintain/improve stakeholder satisfaction. Recommends promotions, discipline and other administrative actions. Ensures compliance with LLU safety regulations, policies and procedures, and State and Federal regulations. Acts as a Liaison between internal and external customers to resolve any satisfaction and service concerns. Able to operate all equipment in Diagnostic Radiology and instructs others in the operation. Able to perform a variety of advanced procedures that require independent judgment and clinical expertise. Shows initiative in accepting new responsibilities and learning new procedures. Performs other duties as needed.
Completion of an accredited Radiology Technology program required. Associate's Degree in Radiologic Sciences preferred. Minimum three years of technical experience in Radiology required. Minimum five years of technical experience in Radiology preferred. Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) license, Fluoroscopy license, and Cardio Pulmonary (CPR) certification required. Additional specialty licensure preferred as applicable.
Knowledge of safety regulations, and state and federal regulations required. Understanding of protocols, department and hospital policies and procedures.
