Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of staff in a diagnostic imaging department such as nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography or ultrasound. Monitors the adherence to all diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and services. Being a Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree, certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. Experience:
5-10 years’ experience in radiology with a minimum of 5 years managerial experience in Radiology/Imaging required.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree preferred, Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) credential preferred.
Licensures/Certifications:
Must be a graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) approved Radiography program and credentialed in good standing as a Registered Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR
Must be a graduate of a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education and be credentialed in good standing as a member of the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) OR
Must be a graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Nuclear Medicine (JRCNMT) and credentialed in good standing as a Nuclear Medicine Technology by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
