Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor jobs in Oklahoma
Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of staff in a diagnostic imaging department such as nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography or ultrasound. Monitors the adherence to all diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and services. Being a Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree, certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. - Perform sonographic scans for multiple modalities: General, Vascular, and Echo
- Inspect and review patient charts, reports, lab results, and medical history.
- Work a 12 hour shift every Saturday and overnight call on Saturday.
- Create patient reports to assist the physician with documentation.
- Analyze sonograms to identify or rule-out patient anomalies.
- Communicate sonographic findings to physician.
- Perform transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms and assist physician in performing transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Communicate machine errors or needs to maintain quality machines and imagery.
- Restock sonography rooms with required supplies for sonography performance.
- Cover a variety of clinical settings, including outreach clinics, which may involve extended commute times.
- Increase your knowledge of diseases and new procedures through CMEs.
Please note that the duties of this position are subject to change, and the employee may be required to perform additional tasks as needed.IS THIS YOU?- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited educational program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- Registered Vascular Technologist Certification (RVT)
- Knowledgeable of human anatomy and medical terminology related specialty
- Knowledgeable of applied physics related to ultrasound
- Compliant with HIPAA as it relates to the use of EMR systems
- Able to communicate effectively with physicians, clients, and team members
- Able to remain calm in emergencies or patient distress
