Diagnostic Imaging Manager plans and implements the overall diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and services for several departments which may include nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography and ultrasound. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations. Being a Diagnostic Imaging Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Requires a certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Diagnostic Imaging Manager typically reports to a director. The Diagnostic Imaging Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Diagnostic Imaging Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     About the Opportunity

    The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, as a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Team performs patient care, technical activities and duties directly related to the overall functioning of the department. The purpose of this position involves the performance of routine and specialized ultrasound procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.


    Travel to other sites may be required.

    About You

    We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

    • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
    • Sonography Canada certification
    • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
    • Current CPR Certification
    • Comprehension of the technical language in order to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions
    • Previous experience is an asset
    • Registration with more than one ultrasound credential is an asset
    • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

    Hours

    • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

    Compensation and Incentives

    $34.24 - $39.96 hourly
