Diagnostic Imaging Manager jobs in Kentucky

Diagnostic Imaging Manager plans and implements the overall diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and services for several departments which may include nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography and ultrasound. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations. Being a Diagnostic Imaging Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Requires a certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Diagnostic Imaging Manager typically reports to a director. The Diagnostic Imaging Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Diagnostic Imaging Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     JOB SUMMARY:

    Under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, the Diagnostic Imaging technologist:

    • Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.
    • Ensures services are performed in a safe environment in accordance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements.
    • Serves as part of the imaging center team and seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice.

    Requirements

    EDUCATION:

    • Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography and maintain current valid registration from ARRT. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice. BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.


    SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Skill in operation of radiographic equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
    • Ability to work independently and multitask.
    • Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
    • Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
    • Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
