Desert Regional Medical Center is a 385-bed acute-care hospital classified as a stroke receiving center and level 2 trauma facility with an innovative, patient centered and evidence-based Rehabilitation Services Department. Our compassionate team provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care rehabilitation, joint replacement & spinal surgery, neurosurgery, ICU, Telemetry, step-down care, skilled nursing, as well as outpatient therapy, hand and lymphedema clinics.
GENERAL DUTIES:
The Diagnostic Imaging Representative II greets patients and visitors in person or on the telephone; obtains demographic, financial, and medical information for registration and identification, coordinates and assists in the completion of all registration activities related to the patients visit, assist with billing information for Patient Business Services to facilitate the collection and distribution of information and to expedite a smooth and timely registration process while adhering to department policies and procedures. Prepares patients for procedures by ensuring appropriate patients preps are communicated and pre-procedure dress is provided.
Monitors and expedites the necessary authorizations and approvals for outpatient diagnostic imaging procedures per the designated insurance providers. Receives scheduling information in person or on the telephone; obtains all demographic information related to scheduling to provide a smooth and accurate process related to outpatient scheduling for all diagnostic imaging sections. Acts as a resource for employees within the department as well as other inter related hospital staff and all guests that need assistance or information. May be required to perform PBX duties as requested.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate with customers on all levels and able to maintain positive working relationship with patients, families, and co-workers.
Two to three years resent experience in acute care hospital registration or business office environment
Preferred: High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of medical terminology courses. Ability to speak Spanish.
Pay Range: $20.15 Minimum - $23.96 Maximum an hour
Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
