    Description
    This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career with Kentucky State Parks while working with our sales team at a beautiful historic park located in Bardstown, Kentucky. We are currently accepting applications for a Group Sales Coordinator position at My Old Kentucky Home State Park.

    This position performs duties as a Group Sales Coordinator and serves as an assistant to our Sales Representative. A candidate with the appropriate experience and education will assist and lead the booking of events, meetings, and tours at our picturesque property. This position requires a motivated individual that will serve as a "hands-on" member of the team, someone that enjoys working with guest and clients and has exceptional customer service.

    This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Books new and repeat group sales events
    • Maintains sales reports
    • Conducts meetings and showings of the property
    • Acts as contact person during events
    • Works with vendors
    • Processes payments and invoicing
    • Sets up and tears down event space

    Minimum Requirements
    EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

    EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years hospitality, tourism, sales, meeting planning, business or administrative experience.

    Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

    Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Hospitality, tourism, sales, meeting planning, business or administrative experience will substitute for the required education on a year for-year basis.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 20 years and one day of age at time of appointment. Applicants for employment with the Kentucky State Resort Parks must obtain S.T.A.R. (Server Training in Alcohol Regulations) certification from the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control within six months of appointment. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
    Working Conditions
    Work is typically performed in an office setting. Travel will be required to conduct outside sales calls.
    Probationary Period
    This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
