Surgery Coordinator

Seeking a Surgery Coordinator at our SOFHA OB/GYN office. Office hours are typically 8-5, Monday through Friday.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Schedule all surgeries for each physician and document surgeries on the surgery calendar.
• Handle/Coordinate all paperwork, surgery consent forms, lab work, consults, etc.
• Handle patient financial responsibilities for the surgery.
• Schedule all inductions and C-sections with labor and delivery.
• Prepare all surgery documentation.
• Contact the hospital surgery department to schedule, coordinate, and verify surgery times.
• Handle pre-certification of benefits with each insurance company on a per-patient basis.
• Reschedule patient appointments to accommodate surgery schedules.
• Counsel patients regarding the surgery process, answer any questions and confirm that they understand.
• Schedule patient referrals.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE:

The candidate is required to have six months of experience in surgery scheduling and superior computer experience. Knowledge of medical terminology and surgery procedures is preferred.
